Terraverde Care grew from two experiences that shaped our founder, Lydia Thompson.
Growing up, Lydia witnessed the challenges that limited access to quality menstrual products could create for girls and women.
Her professional journey in agriculture revealed another opportunity.
As an Animal Scientist with practical experience in both livestock and crop production, she gained firsthand knowledge of agricultural production and the plant materials left behind after harvest.
Banana pseudostems, pineapple leaves, maize husks, and other agricultural residues represented more than materials with little economic value. They represented an opportunity to explore new forms of agricultural value creation.
This led to a simple question:
What if underutilized agricultural materials could become part of a better menstrual care solution for women?
That question became the beginning of Terraverde Care.
Our innovation journey explores how selected plant-based agricultural fibres can be developed and incorporated into menstrual care products alongside other carefully selected materials.
